P2E2 Grants up to $15,000 and 2% Loans up to $75,000 
are Available for Participating Companies

Twenty-four consultants and service providers including James Watters of Delaware Valley Utility Advisors attended a pollution prevention /energy efficiency (P2E2) site assessment training workshop April 17-19 at the Airport Hilton in Philadelphia.  The 2 ½ day training provided information about site assessment techniques and reporting requirements under a newly created P2E2 Site Assessment Grant Program. 

Inolex Chemical, of Philadelphia offered the use of their facilities for attendees to conduct actual P2E2 site visits. 

The Pennsylvania Act 190 grant program will reimburse small businesses up to $15,000 or provide loans up to $75,000 at 2% interest to impliment recommendations of a qualified P2E2 site assessment.  DEP expects up to 200 small business annually to seek P2E2 assessments as a result of this grant program.

The training was designed for consultants, service providers and others who conduct environmental, pollution prevention or energy assessments of commercial and industrial facilities.  The training workshop covers the following topics: 

  • Overview of Act 190 and P2E2 site assessment program
  • Overview of pollution prevention and energy efficiency opportunities in small businesses
  • Maximizing the walk-through
  • Maximizing the benefit of a site assessment
  • Bridging the gap between assessment and implementation of P2E2 recommendations
